Develop an exploratory learning trip for 10 board executives of a recently formed international organization to better understand the complex development challenges in Africa.
The Experience:
Transformational Learning: The delegation visited select sites to learn about community health systems, malaria, water/sanitation, and agriculture during a week-long visit to the region. The executives had an opportunity to meet with government officials and experts in the field as well as the potential beneficiaries of their future investments.
Foster Partnerships: Participants developed deep connections through the trip that will lead to future collaboration and partnerships in the public and private sectors.
The Impact:
Immediately following the trip, the Lives and Livelihoods Fund successfully launched its first project – a malaria prevention and control project in partnership with the Government of Senegal. Additional grants are planned for Morocco.
