Convene a diverse group of private and public sector leaders from around the world and foster collaboration and innovation to develop tangible solutions to address Ebola and future pandemics.
The Experience:
Non-Traditional Health Conference: Participants represented a range of backgrounds including private/technology sector, nonprofits, government, academia, philanthropy, and other fields
Unique Collaborations: Following mainstage presentation to set the context, participants worked in groups through a facilitated process to identify and advance new collaborative solutions to the innovation gaps identified in the Ebola outbreak.
Innovative Design: The Palace of Fine Arts was transformed into an innovative laboratory to facilitate small and large group discussions that broke down familiar patterns and sparked new ideas. A technology showcase was built to share recent innovations in pandemic response and further spark fresh thinking.
The Impact:
Grants were awarded to support further development of ideas generated at the Summit.
